Detox Diva

I’ve concluded my 21 Day Detox. I wish I could write about how the past 21 days flew by quickly but honestly, it’s been a very long 21 days. However, there is a peace that comes over me once I have completed a goal that makes all the sacrifice and hard work worth it. Of the many benefits a detox can bring, one is improved memory. This morning during meditation I remembered that 10 years ago I created a list of goals for myself. At the top of the list was to have a plant-based vegan lifestyle. As I sat quietly with my eyes closed I allowed the tears to have their way as I hadn’t remembered my list in many years. It has taken me 10 years to achieve the amount of discipline needed to be able to commit to a 21-day detox and a plant-based approach to eating. I also chuckled at myself as I recalled that at the time when I set my goal list 10 years ago, I considered myself Vegetarian, However, I was really more like a starchitarian and didn’t realize it. As I closed out my quiet time to began my day I was reminded of the healing benefits of tears and laughter and I am grateful for the balance.

There are many benefits to doing a detox, but I’ll just add a few of the benefits that I’ve received during this 21-detox.

I’m glad that it’s over and now I’m deciding what I will leave out of my lifestyle and what I will pick up again. I feel renewed and I am so grateful that I was able to take the journey.
